An Open Letter to Golfers:

First, we’d like to congratulate one of the largest equipment companies in the world for announcing last week their entry into the nonconforming (nc) equipment space. Their aim is to target a segment of purely recreational golfers. We’d also like to congratulate a 2nd golf company, whose tour-level & conforming equipment is used by one of the most popular pros on earth, for their announcement last month of entering the nc space, and again to target the purely recreational player, and with equipment specifically more suited to their swing-speed & game. And still again here, we’d like to congratulate a 3rd company, and who may be one of the biggest custom-fitting companies in the industry, for their introduction of nc options as well. Additionally, our own golf club foundry tells us that there are other companies too that have nc clubs in production.

In all these cases, please understand that nonconforming is NOT ILLEGAL. It just means that you cannot use the club or device in officially sanctioned usga events or on the Pro Tours or in elite amateur tournaments or whatever. This may only pertain to a very small percentage of you. Bottom line, the stigma of playing with nonconforming equipment versus having to play with exactly what highly-skilled players play with, and which doesn’t really work for you, is quickly eroding. Times are changing. Again, congratulations to all involved!

Secondly, and after 33 years in the golf business, we request that silly “internet golf companies" stop making silly advertising claims about silly conventional golf equipment that they're promoting.

And lastly, we’d like to offer a very legitimate solution for any of you recreational players. Including those of you whom may have bought any number of differently touted golf wedges & then saw no game-improvement. Go & check out the Wonder Wedge. Permission is being granted by the industry as of this date 8/4/24.
